Our view of Multi-level marketing (MLM)

We at BizTeam feel MLM is a marketing strategy that compensates promoters of direct selling companies not only for product sales they personally generate, but also for the sales of others they introduced to the company. It is sometimes difficult to distinguish legal and reputable MLM’s from illegal pyramid or Ponzi schemes. The FTC advises that multi-level marketing organizations with greater incentives for recruitment than product sales are to be viewed skeptically.

With the above description in mind, BizTeam will not extend membership to anyone promoting, advertising, selling, or mentioning an MLM, multi-level or network marketing companies in addition to matrix marketing and direct sales companies.

Simply put...

At BizTeam, we do not want our members solicited, propositioned or pressured to join or add another business. If you participate in a business that does not violate the BizTeam no MLM policy, and if you can successfully promote it without the mention of MLM strategies, you may promote your non-violating business on BizTeam. If your primary business is in any way associated with a company in violation of our policy, then BizTeam is not the right fit for you.

How do we determine whether a membership violates our No MLM policy?

• Requiring new distributors to purchase costly inventory or "start-up kits."
• Profits from sales are derived from recruited sellers ("downline"), rather than solely their own sales.
• Monetary distributions originate from funds paid by new or existing participants.
• Businesses monitored by the Better Business Bureau, state Attorney General, Federal Trade Commission, or any state or federal agency.
• Unrealistic or unsupported promises regarding profits or return on investment.
